Dave,
You're killing me!
Who doesn't remember cigar chomping Irv? From a distance it appears that Red Hook was a much different place than it is now. I can't say if that is good or bad but when you mentioned the corner store, it brought back a rush of memories.
Remember Sky Park?
How about Manny's barber shop?
St. Christophers School?
Beekman Cleaners?
The old post office?

Our Grandparents used to own The Red Hook Deli on West Market Street across from The Red Hook Bank. I'am sure we have some pictures somewhere. I will get in touch with my sisters Rose And Cindy class of '76. See what we can do. P.S. I played the first game on the Little League field -I was on The Notion Shop team. Irv was our coach. Still remember the smell of his cigars! larwynant@yahoo.com  Take care Larry

I have some pictures Brian.  When I lived in the village I took a walk around town and snapped away..remember when Firehouse Plaza was a firehouse?? Irv's Corner store where you could find anything anytime (now Merritt Books) and back before J&J's deli and C&R deli, it was Au****'s Market.  OK I'm dating myself..I'll stop now.

Anyway, great idea..when I get time I'll dig them out and email them to you.

I was wondering if anyone had some old pictures of Red Hook from the 40's-80's. Any pictures that you might have of the various parades with the old businesses and buildings in the background would be great! I just want to start a photo archive and eventually maybe a website with pictures of Red Hook from days gone by. I think it would be fun. I was talking with someone the other day about how Red Hook has changed since we were kids and now I'd be curious to find out just how much it has changed. If you can scan pictures and e mail them to me....that would be great! My e mail address is bmoore4@hvc.rr.com
I would also be interested in any old movies of the parades, little league events, school functions, etc. Thanks in advance!
